Hirsch The Departure marks a defining evolution in American Single Malt, honoring tradition while pushing boundaries. Crafted from 100% malted barley and double distilled in small copper pot stills, this limited-edition release captures the essence of meticulous aging and expert cask selection.
Aged for 6 years and 8 months in a combination of new char #3 and toasted American oak barrels, The Departure delivers a richly textured experience. Bright caramel and grassy undertones greet the nose, leading into a palate layered with sweet cereal, green tea, and ripe fruit, accentuated by warm baking spices. A crisp, lingering finish reveals notes of cocoa nibs and stone fruit, leaving a lasting impression of refinement and depth.
